In a time when everyone was doing what they wanted, Noah walked with God. Everyone was pleasing themselves and living according to their own will, but Noah chose to please God, even though he was only one. When we choose to do the same, God guides us to our blessing and protects us.

God gave Noah instructions to build an ark that would see him, his family and all the animal species to safety. To those around him, he looked crazy building a giant ark when there was no rain, but it would not be in vain. Those who listen to the Word of God are like this. They don’t care how they appear to people because they know that they will be protected from the floods of the world – divorce, betrayal, loneliness and every other flood that could possibly drown one’s love life. Noah and his family were protected from the flood because he was attentive to God’s voice.

He followed every instruction given by God and because of this, everything worked out perfectly. He and his family went in and the animals went in two by two. However, when we don’t obey God, things work against us. Many people choose to listen to the advice the world gives about love rather than listening to the Author of love. They are taken by the floods of the world and how society tells them to love as opposed to building their ark, investing in themselves and trusting that God will honour them in due time.

Be like Noah! Don’t allow the flood of corruption to drown your love life. Stay above the waters and choose to obey God.
